Ambulance Purchased
Alhamdulillah, just before our departure to the UK, we managed to purchase a van for use as an ambulance in Layyah and surrounding areas. A driver for the ambulance as well as fuel costs will also be covered for three months inshallah. This service will bring a much needed critical medical relief to all those in the affected region.

Layyah and Surrounding Areas
Alhamdulillah we completed our visit of Layyah and surrounding areas such as Sobe Wala. We were confident that the area was in dire need of medical help in any form. The doctors operating in the area are stretched and can only cover certain areas, leaving more remote villages unattended. It was agreed that an ambulance with a driver and abundant fuel would enable more doctors to reach more...

Sobe Wala
We’ve just visited a small village outside of Layyah called Sobe Wala where a lot of damage was caused by the floods. The current needs of the village are food rations and medical aid. We were told that due to the stangent water, a lot of the villagers are afflicted with skin ailments and stomach problems. Despite the tough conditions, mashallah the villagers were going about there...

Travel to South Punjab
We left Lahore for Southern Punjab today to visit the areas of Layya, Bhakkar and surrounding regions. Unfortunately, the vehicle we were travelling in broke down twice enroute and we had to be towed 25km to the town of Chowk Azam to have repairs done to the car. Once we were up and running, we made it to Layya where we visited a medical camp that was tending to 180 people daily. We also...

Update on Sindh
Following a few meetings with the brothers in Sindh, and following a close assessment of the situation in the area, we will be providing various forms of relief inshallah. We plan to provide daily meals in a camp setup in Karachi where approximately 100 people displaced from Thatta and Shahdadkot are housed. Along with this, medical aid will also be provided as well as a large water tank which...

Distribution of Aid in Peshawar
Alhamdulillah over the last couple of days, we have been very busy assessing and researching the requirements of the area. Visiting the various camps setup for displaced people, we found that food and medical assistance was being provided abundantly. We were advised and also felt ourselves that one of the best types of relief to provide at this point of time was to help with the rehabilitation...

Damaged Bridge Over Swat River
Aug 30th
Trip to Nowshera
On the way to Nowshera and surrounding areas, we passed through Charsada Road, which had severely been damaged by the floods. One whole section of the bridge going over the Swat River was also missing. On visiting the various areas, we noticed that almost all of the illnesses and diseases affecting the people were due to dirty water being utilised. In one regard, it foreshadows what calamities...

Arrival at Peshawar
Alhamdulillah we arrived in Peshawar and were met at the bus station by Shaikh Zakir ur Rahman, the head of Ahlehadith Youth Force Pakistan. We went straight to an area on the outskirts of Peshawar called Urmar where the local river called Zandey Khur burst it’s banks and flooded the local residents. Buildings, crops and trees were all damaged and in some parts the flood water reached...

Moving on to Peshawar
We are currently in Rawalpindi, having left Karachi, and are about to board a bus for Peshawar. We also now have additional brothers with us who will be assisting: Brothers Hussain, Asghar, Asjad and Azram, from Birmingham and regulars at Green Lane Masjid. We also have extra help from Ar-Rahmah Trust Pakistan in the form of brothers Rafiq and Talib Hussain. Insha Allah, we hope to reach...

Return to Karachi
We are on our return to Karachi now and have witnessed another unimaginable scene: from Sehwan Sharif till Hyderabad, a distance of over 100km, we have seen nothing but flood water on either side of the road, stretching to as far as the eye can see. Displaced villagers are all in makeshift tents on the roadside with all the belongings they could gather before leaving.

Shahdadkot
Just outside of Shahdadkot, the main road has had a makeshift barrier of dirt placed alongside it which has so far prevented the water from entering the town. However, up till the road, the villges in between have been consumed by the water. While visiting the barrier, we noticed three people stranded in the middle of the water, all standing seperately on mounds just above the water level. A...

Camp in Larkana
We’ve just visited a camp in Larkana where some of the displaced people from Sindh have been placed. I say a camp, but it is anything but a camp. For the hundreds there, I could only see a handful of tents. People are shading from the midday sun by crawling under buses and draping sheets between electricity poles. As we arrived, crowds gathered around us and started telling us their...

Flooded Overflow Area
We just visited an area in Darbelo where flood water has reached, despite it being 4 miles from the river which has overflowed. The area was designated as an overflow area in case a flood was to ever take place. But due to no such case in the past years, people started to slowly populate the land and built their homes there. Now that the flood has taken place and the overflow area has filled...
